10. DOCUMENTS

Please submit your complete application along with followings in order to be evaluated by the Admissions Committee.
(except for A, the files should preferably come in PDF format).

a) A recent photograph, front, passport-sized, in digital format (jpg or bmp).

b) Copy of the certification of the transcripts obtained in all the university courses studied at the undergraduate
and master degree levels. Include information about the grading systems and, when possible, ranking in
both levels (if not included with the transcripts). If you are admitted and can officially start the doctorate
program, you must send by postal mail or bring with you the original document issued by the University or a
certified copy of such transcripts.

c) Copy of the diplomas (degree) earned during undergraduate and master degree studies. If you are admitted
and can officially start the doctorate program you must send by postal mail or bring with you a certified copy
of those Diplomas.

d) Copy (scanned) of specialization courses, short courses, workshops, seminars, conferences, symposiums
diplomas that the candidate has completed.

e) Copy of Curriculum vitae.

f) Copy of the first page and the complete bibliographical reference of all publications and documents of
projects in which you have participated.

g) Copy (scanned) of three letters of recommendation. One of these three must be from the Graduate Advisor

h) Summary of master's thesis.

i) Proposed topic of the Doctoral Thesis (about two pages). This must define the problem and its significance,
the objectives, the hypotheses to be tested and the methodology to be used. Please indicate two other possible topics.

j) File with a letter of justification. A short letter indicating your motivations to continue doctoral studies and
selected for this purpose CATIE.

k) Copy of TOEFL results (79-80 iBT (550 paper-based) for CATIE and CATIE/University of Idaho Program-83
iBT (560 paper-based) for CATIE/University of Bangor Program) for applicants from non-English countries
only. Minimum scores per skill or competence must be:
- Reading 18
- Listening 17
- Speaking 20
- Writing 18
GRE score may be needed for applicants participating in CATIE-US University programs.

l) Letter of support from the institution where you work (optional).

m) A US$60.00 fee is required for processing the application (this should be sent in the form of a check from a
United States Bank, made out to CATIE or paid through CATIE?s web).

11. RESULTS OF ADMISSION


Once you have sent this application form as well as all the documents requested in item 10, an evaluation committee
will make a decision on admission to the Program. CATIE?s Office of Admissions will inform the applicant on the
results as soon as possible.
